- A North West school is unable to open this week due to vandalism.
- The school has been robbed of windows, door frames, roofing, taps and electric cables.
- Pupils will now be accommodated at three other schools in the area.
A North West school has been vandalised at least five times, with the most recent incident seeing the school robbed of electric cables, taps, roofing, books, window frames and doors.
Even kitchen utensils were stolen from Tirelong Secondary School during the December school holidays, said North West Education MEC Mmaphefo Matsemela.
"Tirelong Secondary School experienced an unprecedented vandalism," said Matsemela.

The education department and local mining houses renovated the school, near Rustenburg, more than five times, the department said. The renovations cost an estimated R800 000.
Due to the vandalism, the school will not reopen on Wednesday, said Matsemela, as it does not have running water or electricity.
"The North West Department of Education intervened immediately after realising the condition of the school. An intervention team consulted all stakeholders affected by requesting permission from parents to relocate the learners," said Matsemela.
Pupils will now be relocated to three other schools in the area.
"As a department, we want the learners of Tirelong Secondary School to start with the process of learning like other learners in other areas. We have agreed with the three schools of Moedwil, Naauwpoort and Boons Mega Farm School, who are going to accommodate these learners of Tirelong Secondary School," said Matsemela.
Matsemela has appointed a task team to deal with the process of relocation and find a "permanent solution".
