Poaching, wildlife crime reporting on the up - Green Scorpions report

South Africans are reporting more wildlife crimes, including poaching incidents, according to a recent Green Scorpions report.

According to Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) spokesperson Peter Mbelengwa, there has been a 52% increase in the number of complaints reported through various channels, based on findings contained in the 2022/23 National Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Report (Necer).
