South Africa has recorded 46 suspected cholera cases and five laboratory-confirmed cases between 1 January and 1 February 2024, according to Health Minister Joe Phaahla on Monday.
Phaahla said three of the cases were imported from Zimbabwe, which is currently battling the outbreak of the diarrheal disease, and two other cases were from siblings in Blouberg Local Municipality in Limpopo.
However, Phaahla said they were isolated cases and the country did not have an outbreak at the moment.
