While the illegal strike that saw the crippling of service delivery in Tshwane appears to be slowly dissipating, the potential for more attacks on the capital city's infrastructure and employees cannot be ruled out as management sticks to its guns not to pay salary increases.
Near the end of July, the City of Tshwane first noticed a stay away from work by employees in the Centurion region, linked to its decision not to pay a 5.4% wage increase.
This soon ballooned into a massive strike, which has since been interdicted, involving almost a third of the City's workforce.
