Aspects of AmaZulu Prince Mbonisi's application to have state support of his nephew, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, halted, pending the contest for the throne, have been deemed inappropriate to be heard by a court of law.
On Friday, lawyers for the king argued in the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Pietermaritzburg some items in Mbonisi's application were based on hearsay and were defamatory and should not form part of the application when it was heard.
As a result, Judge Peter Olsen presided over back-and-forth arguments between lawyers representing the two AmaZulu royals.
