We want to see Tim Noakes' Banting research - dieticians

We speak to dietitian, Claire Julsing Strydom, and Dr. Louise van den Berg from the University of the Free State, about Tim Noakes' controversial diet claims.

They say that the claims he is making are irresponsible and can lead to high cholesterol levels.

Both experts call on Tim Noakes to make his research available, so that it can be peer reviewed.

These aren't the first experts we've spoken to who feel this way about the Banting diet. A scientific study was released by researchers from Stellenbosch University that found a balanced diet was more beneficial for health and weight loss, than a low carbohydrate and high fat diet. We unpack the study here.

Are you on the Banting diet? Let us know what you think of Tim Noakes' claims in the comments section below this video.
