Registered counsellor, Banetsi Mphunga, speaks to us in his mobile psychology unit. Watch.
When Mphunga sat down with us, he had just come back from a call to assist a suicidal teenager. He tells us about this call, and what he does when he gets extreme calls like this one.
Usually the counsellor attends to calls related to substance abuse and psychological trauma.
Mphunga has turned a 24-year-old microbus into a mobile psychology clinic in Khayelitsha. The counsellor's aim is to educate parents and children about emotional and psychological well-being and remove stigmas associated with mental health.
