A hijacking helped this ex gang leader find God

accreditation

Denzil Moses, 40, used to be the leader of the gang Fancy Boys in Cape Town. Watch him tell us how hijacking a car helped him find God and remove himself from gang culture.

Moses explains the last time he hijacked a car, and tells us about the unusual situation that made him change his ways.

The ex gang leader was born into a family that participated in gang and drug culture. His dad passed away when he was 13-years-old, and in an attempt to find a male role model, he found himself involved in gang activity.

Today Moses has dedicated himself to eradicating gang culture in Cape Town. He works closely with current and former gang members, providing education, support and a means to re-integrate into regular society after gangs.

Moses was shot in the head by his own brother, hear the story about his youth here.
