The South African Police Service (SAPS) destroying drugs valued at R550 million on Wednesday.

On Wednesday morning, Gauteng police destroyed drugs valued at R550 million.

A truckload of five tons of narcotics, including mandrax, cocaine, tik, heroin and unregistered pharmaceutical drugs, formed part of the drug destruction.

Of the R550 million consignment, R185 million worth was cocaine and R28 million heroin.
