Russians and Ukrainians have been given two weeks to leave Sri Lanka, amid a furore around a "whites only" party that was planned, then cancelled, on the island.
But the government appears to be divided about the decision to kick out the visitors, with signs the decision may have been hastily taken.
Sri Lanka had decided to grant no further special visa extensions to Ukrainians and Russians, the commissioner-general of immigration, Harsha Ilukpitiya, told the country's tourism ministry.
