Latest: Australian ball-tampering trio sent home and sanctioned

#SandpaperGate has claimed its first victims.

Australian captain Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner were sent home from South Africa and subsequently banned for 12 months for their roles in the ball-tampering scandal during the third Test against the Proteas at Newlands last weekend.

In addition, both Smith and Warner have been barred from captaining Australia for a period of two years.

Cameron Bancroft, who was also sent home, received a ban of nine months.
