The Age reports pristine and sunny island, Amergris Caye has been named the world’s best island due to its fantasy getaway appearance, and reliable weather.
The island apparently boasts of sunshine 300 days a year, and is the second largest barrier reef in the world, after Queens Island.
The grand scenery of waterfalls, caves, rainforests and beaches, can be marvelled at by way of the island’s main form of transportation, golf carts.
Just short of winning status, world-class beach home, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, took second place.
The world’s best islands are chosen on a basis of contributor (travellers) reviews, ratings of hotels, restaurants, and attractions, over a 12-month period.
