Rivers -   The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) says its partnership with SERVICOM will facilitate sustainable development in the Niger Delta region.

Christian Oboh, NDDC’s Managing Director made this known in Port Harcourt on Thursday during a sensitisation workshop entitled ``SERVICOM as a tool for improving service and project delivery in the Niger Delta region’’.

Oboh said the introduction of SERVICOM in the commission would help fast track project implementation and execution in the region.

He directed directors of the commission to immediately establish SERVICOM units in their departments.

The managing director reiterated the determination of his administration to implement sustainable projects that would impact positively on the lives of the people of Niger Delta.

Earlier, Mr Slybriks Obriki, the National Coordinator of SERVICOM, said SERVICOM was part of the Federal Government transformation agenda on provision of quality service to Nigerians.

``The leadership of NDDC must uphold the principle of SERVICOM in ensuring transparency, accountability and also encouraging full stakeholder’s participation in decision making,’’ he said.

He urged the commission to apply SERVICOM principle in its budgeting system to ensure optimal service delivery.
