Taraba - The Speaker of Taraba House of Assembly, Mr Istifanus Gbana, has expressed shock over the death of Mr Ishaku Audu, a member of the House representing Kurmi Constituency.
Gbana, who made his feelings known when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased in Jalingo on Monday, said the House had missed a dear friend.
"We received the news of his death with great shock. Audu was not just a member but also an elder to us.
"Any time we had a problem, he would be the one to advice us. His death has created a great vacuum in the House."
Audu died at the early hours of Monday after a brief illness at the Bedseda Medical Centre, Jalingo.
Mr Hosea Danasebe, the Chairman of Kurmi Local Government Area, said the council had lost an illustrious son and thanked members of the Assembly for their concern for Kurmi people during their trying moment.
Audu, 54, won the election into the Assembly last year on the platform of the PDP
