NFF deliberates on pending Women league cases

Abuja -  The Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) said on Tuesday in Abuja that it would meet on Aug. 8, to deliberate on cases of the Nigerian Women League pending before it.

In a statement signed by the Secretary of the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL), Danlami Alanana, the cases include those involving alleged abandonment of matches, non-payment of match officials and other technical issues.

The Women League was put on hold after its week 17 matches, pending the outcome of the cases before the disciplinary committee.

The cases involved 14 Women League clubs who have been invited to appear before the committee.

In some of the cases, the statement said that all parties involved have been invited to appear before the committee.

The cases involve Pelican Stars vs Nasarawa Amazons, Nasarawa Amazons vs FCT Queens, Sunshine Queens vs Pelican Stars, FC Robo vs Nito Queens and Nasarawa Amazons vs Inneh Queens (protests by the two clubs).

Other clubs are: Police Machine vs Bayelsa Queens, Tokas Queens vs Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels vs Tewo Queens, Bayelsa Queens vs Standard Queens and Nito Queens vs Delta Queens,’’ the statement said.

It added that week 18 matches would now be played on Aug. 11, after the adjudication of the cases.
