Norah chats about her really amazing
adoptive parents, and the love and devotion, patience, blood, sweat and tears that went in to raising she and her brother, Joe.
What have you enjoyed most about your parents so far?There is too much to find that one thing, but if I had to try it would be the random calls to ask why I have not called this week (as an adult), the birthday breakfasts of our choice and the bed time stories (as a child).
Are there any challenges you've found which have been particularly tough? The hardest thing was to watch when my (grandfather) mom's dad was dying and there was nothing we could do but pull together as a
family and just be there for her, her sister and her brother.
Has having awesome parents taught you something about parenting, based on your own experiences? Well, that nothing can substitute the love of your father and mother for you and that blood is not the
bond that makes them your folks.
How do you think your parents would describe you?
Independent, but that is the way they raised me :D
What characterises a "good parent"? Honesty, discipline, strength, a sense of humour, fun, loving, forgiving, understanding always there to
kiss it better and not say i told you so straight away, eating dinner at the dining table all together, bed time stories.
