I had a c-section, it was terrifying and wonderful all at the same time, and I'll do it again. I heard so many scary stories that I was scared out of my wits that morning, but it's not nearly as bad as what people tell you. Yes it's painful but once you have that little one it's worth it, and everyday is a bit better than before.

South Africans have an unhealthy obsession with c-sections. I think its driven by the doctors (fast bucks). Natural birth is proven to be better for the baby and the mom. C-sections should only be a last resort in an emergency scenario.

To each their own, no one should be judged because of how they want to bring their child into the world. Having a C-section doesn't make you any less of a mother.

I also thought so Pierre, but due to fetal emergency my son was born via c-section and the second time around I will go for a c-section from the start! Normal birth is not for everyone.

Some of us have no choice but to have a C-section. Some of us are not fortunate enough to be able to have a natural birth, no matter how badly we want to. Others laboured for hours and hours but still nothing happens and baby becomes distressed. Some poor babies have cords around their necks and it is a risk to their life. Everyone's situations are different. I, myself, had no amniotic fluid left after a month of bed rest and would have had a dry birth and seeing as I am the one that had to go through that, not my HUSBAND, I chose to listen to my doctor who actually does this for a living.

I was there when my wife had a c section. Couldn't eat the whole day. Thank God I'm never going back.
