The British prime minister left his 8-year-old daughter at a pub. Simple accident or irresponsible parenting?
(Image: Getty)After a mix-up regarding who's driving who, David Cameron and his wife left their 8-year-old daughter at a pub, according to
The Guardian.
The
Camerons and two other families, having just finished Sunday lunch,
were trying to sort out lifts when the prime minister's daughter went to
the bathroom. When her parents got home a few minutes later and
realised that she wasn't with them, they rushed back to the pub and
found her with the staff.
A Downing Street spokesman said: "The
prime minister and Samantha were distraught when they realised Nancy
wasn't with them. Thankfully when they phoned the pub she was there safe
and well. The prime minister went down straight away to get her."
When
Cameron left the pub he went home in one car with his bodyguards and
thought Nancy was with his wife and their other children in another car.
I feel sorry for David and his wife. I wouldn't say they are
irresponsible parents
but they are going be lambasted as such because of a simple mistake.
I'm sure just about every parent has forgotten their sleeping baby in
the car, their toddler at a restaurant or forgotten to pick up their kid
from school.
