With news that Moroka Swallows has officially parted company with Bongani Sam halfway through his loan spell from parent club Orlando Pirates, the immediate question was whether the left back would be returning to the Buccaneers next season.
Soccer Laduma went digging and has established that the 26-year-old could very well be made available for a price in July. Sam joined Pirates in 2019 from the now defunct Bloemfontein Celtic and was seen as a great prospect at the time having already made his junior international appearances with the hope that he’d represent Bafana.
However, injuries disrupted his debut season with the Soweto giants under then coach Micho Sredojevic and he was eventually sent out on loan to Maritzburg United after two years of trying to be a regular.
