The embattled Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) has taken the ICC's "unsatisfactory" rating of its wicket for the second Test between the Proteas and India on the chin.

The member's organisation announced on Tuesday that it was handing Newlands one demerit point for a surface that saw the match conclude after just 642 deliveries being sent down, the shortest ever in terms of ball.
