POTCHEFSTROOM - South Africa Under-19 batter David Teeger took in the protest and storm around him in his stride with a steady batting performance that belied the storm that's unfolded around him as the Junior Proteas found a winning step in what has been a difficult few weeks for them,
Teeger, who walked in at the end of the fourth over at the fall of Steven Stolk's wicket, compiled a painstaking yet significant 98-ball 44 that stemmed a mini-collapse and laid the platform for SA's competitive 285/9 against the West Indies at the JB Marks Oval that saw them triumph by 31 runs.
Teeger was outscored by Dewan Marais (65) and captain Juan James (47), but his contribution, along with that of Lu-handre Pretorius (40) and Kwena Maphaka's 5/38 earned them a narrow win.
