Jurie Roux has filed for leave to appeal the Western Cape High Court judgement that ordered the former SA Rugby CEO to pay back the R37 million owed to Stellenbosch University with interest and costs.

Roux is desperate to overturn the decision after losing his arbitration and its subsequent appeal before again losing at the Western Cape High Court. He had 15 days after the 25 April judgement to file his leave to appeal application, which he handed in on 18 May.

His fate now rests with Justice Vincent Saldanha, who found against Roux at the High Court and who will decide whether he can approach the Supreme Court of Appeal.
