Sports, Arts, and Culture Minister Zizi Kodwa hopes the South African Football Association (SAFA) will honour its commitment of paying the national women's team their bonuses due to them for their efforts at the Women's World Cup.

Banyana was embroiled in a pay dispute on the eve of their departure in early July, with Kodwa, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, the Motsepe Foundation, and National Lotteries operator Ithuba having to step in to resolve the impasse.

The Motsepe Foundation resolved to pay the 26 players - including the three stand-by players who didn't go to the World Cup - R230 000 each, with the technical staff getting R115 000 each, and Ithuba providing a further R2 million for the players and support staff.
