Cape Town - AB de Villiers is likely to miss the Proteas’ tour of Bangladesh in July.
According to EWN Sport, the South African ODI captain is expected to sit out the tour as he and his wife are expecting the birth of their first child.
De Villiers recently returned to South Africa after playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Despite his team finishing third in the competition, De Villiers was a star with the bat, scoring 513 runs (4th highest) at an average of 46.63 and a strike rate of 175.08.
The Proteas squad for the tour will be
named later on Wednesday.
They will face Bangladesh in two T20s, three ODIs and two Tests.
