Duminy: There's more to come

Cape Town - If JP Duminy can take his T20 form into the upcoming ODI series in India, the Proteas will be smiling.

The all-rounder was instrumental in South Africa's 2-0 win over their hosts (the third T20 was washed out on Thursday) with scores of 68* (34) and 30* (39) in the first two matches.

The first knock in particular was impressive as Duminy smashed seven sixes as the Proteas chased down 200 to win with two balls to spare.

That was Duminy's eighth international T20 50, but he says it was one of his more memorable knocks.

"I’ll definitely put it down as one of my better innings, especially in international cricket in the shorter format," Duminy said.

"But I still believe that there’s a lot more to come from myself. I can still contribute a lot more, not only with the bat but with the ball as well. I guess the key for me is just to stay hungry."

Duminy added that starting the tour - which sees the Proteas play five ODIs and four Tests - positively was crucially important.

"It can get quite painful if you start off in the wrong fashion … but we also know there’s a lot of hard work ahead of us. It’s going to be a hard-fought ODSI series," said Duminy.

The Proteas take on India on the first ODI on Sunday in Kanpur. The match starts at 05:30 (SA time).
