Cape Town - David Frost overcame a late penalty to win the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic by one shot on Sunday after edging out Tom Lehman and Kevin Sutherland.

The one-shot penalty was a bizarre affair that resulted from a ball that Frost dropped on the 17th hole. He was able to shrug off the incident and, after Lehman missed a short putt for birdie, lifted the silverware.

“I marked the ball and as I picked it up, the ball just kind of slipped out of my hand, hit the coin and moved it,” Frost said. “I knew exactly where it was and I just moved it back and didn’t think there was a penalty at all because I knew exactly where it was.
