Vettel to start US GP in pitlane

Austin - Sebastian Vettel will start Sunday's United States Grand Prix from the pitlane, the FIA confirmed on Friday.

In a statement, the International Motoring Federation (FIA) said Red Bull driver Vettel was taking his sixth power unit of the season.

Team chief Christian Horner has suggested that Vettel, who won the race at the Circuit of the Americas last year, may still take some part in the qualifying session.

Jenson Button of McLaren has been given a five-place penalty on the grid for a change of gearbox on his McLaren car.
