Schleck fit for Fleche Wallonne

Bastogne - Former Tour de France winner Andy Schleck and Ardennes specialist Joaquim Rodriguez have both recovered from knocks to take part in Wednesday's Fleche Wallonne.

Schleck, 28, and Rodriguez, 34, both crashed 80km into Sunday's Amstel Gold Race and, having been forced to abandon, later cast doubts over their ability to participate in Wednesday's race.

But Luxemburger Schleck, who has not earned a top 10 finish in a major race since coming second in the 2011 Tour de France, has overcome a knee injury and will again support brother Frank in the Trek team.

Spaniard Rodriguez, the 2012 Fleche winner, felt dizzy following his fall at Amstel and was taken to hospital to have his chest X-rayed.

But as nothing was found to be broken, he is now fit to take part in the Fleche race alongside compatriot and Katusha team-mate Dani Moreno, the reigning champion.

The pair are widely expected to be the main rivals for Belgian Philippe Gilbert, who triumphed at Amstel for the third time on Sunday and is chasing a second Ardennes treble having achieved the feat in 2011.

Following Wednesday's race, the main protagonists will head to Sunday's Liege-Bastogne-Liege, where Schleck is expected to take over team leadership duties at Trek from his brother.
