All Blacks packing for Rio

Cape Town - NZRU CEO Steve Tew has confirmed that several Super Rugby and All Blacks players will prioritise sevens in 2016 in the lead up to the Olympic Games in Brazil.

This follows reports that New Zealand Sevens coach Gordon Tietjens sent out a wish list of stars for Rio – including Sonny Bill Williams, Cory Jane, Liam Messam and Julian Savea – following his side's 17-12 loss to South Africa in the final of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Sunday.

Tietjens wants Olympic contenders to play at least four to six HSBC Sevens World Series tournaments in 2016.
