Cape Town - The Sharks have landed the services of former Baby Bok Lionel Cronjé.
Cronjé, 25, represented the Brumbies this past season but according to the Sydney Morning Herald's website, the utility back has signed a two-year deal with the Durban-based Sharks.
He will join them before the start of this year's Currie Cup competition.
Cronjé, who can slot in at flyhalf or fullback, played three games off the bench for the Brumbies early this season when Christian Lealiifano was injured.
However, with another Wallaby in Matt Toomua also ahead of him in the pecking order, Cronjé is hoping a return home will kick-start his Super Rugby dream.
Cronjé plays club rugby for Gungahlin and led them to the John I Dent Cup preliminary final with a stellar display at flyhalf last weekend. They beat Wests 45-19 in the semi-finals, with Cronjé scoring 15 points in an all-round display.
However, he may be ruled out of this week’s clash against Tuggeranong, after his release from the Brumbies became effective following their Super Rugby semi-final loss to the Waratahs.
Cronjé previously also represented the South African Under-20 side, the Stormers, Blue Bulls and Lions.
