WP unveil Currie Cup squad

Cape Town - Western Province coach Allister Coetzee has released his playing squad for the upcoming Currie Cup season on Friday.

Seven players in the group are still eligible for the WP Under-21 team - including star wing Cheslin Kolbe - but the likes of Sti Sithole, Jean Kleyn, Jurie van Vuuren, Sikhumbuzo Notshe and Robert du Preez are all uncapped at Currie Cup level.

Injured players, Steven Kitshoff and Ryno Eksteen, will take no part in the Currie Cup, but new wing signing William Ambaka Ndayara has been named in the group along with Dillyn Leyds who is set to return to Cape Town from the Western Force.

Western Province will get their Currie Cup campaign underway against the Eastern Province Kings in Port Elizabeth on Friday, 8 August.

The 2014 Province captain will be announced on 4 August 4 with the first matchday squad - to take on the Kings - being announced the following day.
