Cape Town - The Cheetahs on Monday confirmed that flank Heinrich Brussow would be sidelined for an extended period after breaking his arm in their 18-17 Super Rugby loss to the Reds in Bloemfontein at the weekend.

The Springbok left the field in the 14th minute of the match at Free State Stadium and underwent surgery on Sunday.

The Cheetahs released an injury report on Monday saying Brussow would be out for approximately three months.
