Coetzee: WP doing something right

Cape Town - Having fielded questions on bonus points and playoff aspirations at Saturday's post-match press conference, Stormers coach Allister Coetzee felt the need to address a couple of things that hadn't been brought up by the journalists in attendance. 

It was his birthday, after all, and just as everybody was about to get up and leave the 52-year-old began by congratulating the Western Province XV on their advancement to the Vodacom Cup final. 

"And it's also nice to see that the Vodacom Cup guys are playing in the final next week as well, so I must say it's looking good," Coetzee said, making reference to Western Province's semi-final win over the Blue Bulls earlier on Saturday, before he moved into transformation territory. 

"And nice to see that we've played with ... something I never mentioned, I thought you guys would pick it up in the media ... having played 10 players of colour in a Super Rugby match," he said. 

"So when we do these positive things and we're still asked about a bonus point then I do from time to time get a bit frustrated.

"There must be something right here with Western Province," Coetzee continued.

"This is on merit, merit is how we've managed it. That is why Western Province and Stormers have something special. Jut for the record."
