Court date set for WP star

Cape Town - The Western Province and Stormers rugby player who was arrested for driving under the influence will appear in court on December 10, the SA Breaking News website reports.

The 24-year-old player was arrested in Strand Street, Cape Town after playing for the Stormers in their 34-10 defeat to the Sharks at Newlands on Saturday, July 12.

Police spokesperson, Tembinkosi Kinana, confirmed the player was arrested for driving under the influence.

The player’s name is being withheld until he has been charged and has appeared in court.

This is the second time inside a year that a Stormers player was arrested for driving under the influence. The previous incident occurred in November 2013. That player is due to appear in court in August for the incident.
