Sharks grind out Brisbane win

Cape Town - The Sharks picked up their first victory on tour - in their final match - when they beat the Reds in Brisbane on Friday.

The Sharks won 21-14 after leading 16-7 at half-time.

The Sharks had scrumhalf Stefan Ungerer to thank for both their tries, while centre Frans Steyn added a conversion as well as three penalties.

The Reds replied with tries by wing Chris Kuridrani and centre Samu Kerevi. Fullback James O'Connor landed both conversions.

The Sharks picked up four points for their victory, but stayed fourth in the South African Conference and 11th in the Overall standings.

The Reds picked up a point for losing by seven or fewer points, but stayed fourth in the Australian Conference and 14th in the Overall log.

In next weekend's Round 16 action, the Sharks host the Rebels (Friday, May 29 at 19:10), while the Reds travel to Perth to play the Force (Saturday, May 30 at 11:40).
