London – The Springboks are increasingly showing that they have all the right tools for a concerted assault on the knockout phase of RWC 2015, according to an English television pundit.
Ugo Monye, the recently-retired former England wing/fullback and Harlequins stalwart in the English Premiership, was speaking during a highlights programme on the domestic ITV channel here after the Boks’ latest triumph over Scotland (34-16) in Newcastle.

He felt it was tailor-made for the closing weeks of the tournament, given the expected shift to wetter, windier and probably chillier weather as the autumn sets in properly over the United Kingdom.
“We’ve been blessed with very good, mostly dry weather for a couple of weeks ... (but) South Africa’s power and strength will definitely come to fruition when the rain comes down,” the 32-year-old Monye said.
There was agreement among several ITV commentators, after the forward-engineered triumph over the Scots at St James’ Park, that the Boks play second fiddle to nobody at this World Cup in pure physicality terms thus far.
