Tunisia, DR Congo into quarters

Bata - Tunisia and Democratic Republic of Congo drew 1-1 on Monday to take both sides through to the quarter-finals at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Tunisia progressed as Group B winners, but substitute Loteteka Bokila's 66th-minute equaliser was crucial for Congo as they squeezed through to the last eight through the tournament's tie-breaker rules.

Congo finished with the same points as Cape Verde, who drew 0-0 with Zambia, but scored more goals in the group stage.

Tunisia had led at a near-empty Bata Stadium through forward Ahmed Akaichi's first-half header.

Both sides celebrated at full-time, obviously aware of the result in the other Group B game played at the same time in Ebebiyin between Cape Verde and Zambia.

Tunisia now play host Equatorial Guinea in the quarterfinal, while Democratic Republic of Congo will face Congo.
