Cape Town - Arsenal are close to completing a £6million deal for Greek centre-back Kostas Manolas, who is reported to be in London currently undergoing a medical at the Emirates.
According to reports, Olympiakos accepted the £6million bid from Arsenal after manager Arsene Wenger earlier stated he was looking to bring in a defender before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Manolas will be Wenger's third defensive signing this summer as he looks to strengthen his back four.
The
23-year-old Manolas, who has also attracted the interest of Juventus,
has won 13 caps for Greece, and is expected to be the perfect replacement for captain Thomas Vermaelen who departed for Barcelona earlier this month.
