Agent confirms Alves deal

Cape Town - FIFA agent Francois Gallardo claims Barcelona defender Daniel Alves has already agreed terms with Manchester United, where he will move on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The Brazil international has been strongly linked with a move away from the Nou Camp, where he has won virtually every title on offer in Spain and Europe during his six-year stay.

The likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus have all been tipped as potential suitors of the right-back, but Gallardo says the Red Devils have already completed a deal.

"The player will leave Barcelona next season,” he told Spanish television programme Neox. “He has signed a preliminary agreement with Manchester United.”

United have undergone a mass overhaul since Louis van Gaal's appointment as manager in July, with the former Netherlands boss having spent over £150m on new signings, including club record arrival Angel di Maria, as well as Radamel Falcao, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
