Arteta aggravates calf again

Cape Town - Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Mikel Arteta will be sidelined yet again with a calf problem.

According to the Daily Mirror, Arteta is one of seven Arsenal players who are now sidelined with an injury.

Theo Walcott, Mathieu Debuchy, Danny Welbeck, Mesut Ozil and Wojciech Szczesny are all out injured with Jack Wilshere facing a lengthy spell on the side with a three month lay-off.

Yaya Sanogo was another player who got injured during Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund having suffered a hamstring injury.

Wenger confirms that Arteta would be “out for a while.”

"The injuries are difficult to take on the chin,” said Arteta.

“We go into many games and we need as many as possible available. The injury situation is a problem because we have many games and we lost two players tonight.

"Arteta again has a calf problem and that looks quite serious and we lost Sanogo as well on a hamstring problem."
