Benzema, Bale going nowhere

Cape Town - Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez is confident neither Karim Benzema nor Gareth Bale will be sold this summer.

teamtalk.com report that both Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale will be Real Madrid players this season.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for French striker Karim Benzema while Gareth Bale continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United.

Speaking ahead of Real Madrid's Audi Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday, Benitez insists neither of his star forwards will be leaving the ten-time Champions League winners.

"Gareth is a huge player for us and I know that he's happy." said Benitez.

"I'm not going to talk about offers. Everything is well and he's going to have a good season with us I'm sure."

Benitez then ruled out Benzema linking up with French manager Arsene Wenger this summer.

"My answer is that I think Benzema is going to stay with us. I'm very happy with him. There's no reason to think that he's going to go."

Real Madrid are expected to have both stars in their squad for Benitez's first season in charge of Los Blancos when the La Liga season kicks off away at Gijon on August 23.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
