Cape Town - Saturday's FA Cup final will mark 50 years since Albert Johanneson's historic appearance in the showpiece clash, with a memorial to be held in his honour at Wembley.
The South African-born midfielder, who passed away in 1995, aged 55, became the first black footballer to play in the final of the FA Cup when representing Leeds United in the 1965 showpiece.
Johanneson was unable to help the Whites to victory as they eventually went down 2-1 in extra time to Liverpool, although his participation alone was enough for the match to go down in history.
The Football Association will now host a memorial in his honour this weekend prior to the clash between Arsenal and Aston Villa, where the former York City playmaker's daughters, Yvonne and Alicia, will present his trophies to the National Football Museum.
