The 34-year-old has been devoted to his boyhood club since the age of nine, and while there were plenty of scares he would leave the club for Chelsea a couple of years ago, Gerrard has remained loyal to the Merseysiders. His future at Anfield now rests firmly in the hands of Brendan Rodgers as he waits to see if he'll be offered an extension come May next year.
"I can only worry about this season 'cause I'm only contracted until May," Gerrard told The Daily Telegraph.
"As it stands at the moment, I'm here until the end of the season and want to make the most of it. I certainly won't be retiring this summer. I will play beyond this season.
"We will have to wait and see if that's at Liverpool or somewhere else. That's Liverpool's decision. If they don't come then I will see what's out there," concluded the former England captain.
Gerrard has made over 480 Premier League appearances, featuring in every League game this season ahead of Saturday's trip to Newcastle United.
