Cape Town - Chelsea are in talks with Roma over a proposed agreement that would see the London club snap up the highly-rated forward Mattia Destro with Blues striker Fernando Torres going the other way.
According to the Times, the proposal is believed to include a move for the Italian striker, who is valued at around £20 millon, to Chelsea and in exchange Torres will be allowed to move to Roma on a loan deal.
Torres has had a somewhat unhappy time at Chelsea since moving from Liverpool in 2011 for £50 million.
The Spanish striker has been unable to replicate the prolific form he enjoyed at Merseyside and has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
After his dominance in the transfer window this summer, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has plenty of quality strikers at his disposal and the absence of Fernando Torres wouldn't dent his side in the slightest.
