Cape Town - Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos insists he is in no hurry
to wrap up a contract extension at the Bernabeu, and is preferring to
instead focus on his football, reports Football411.
The Spain international still has two years remaining on his current deal with the Galacticos, although it was recently claimed by former Madrid director of football Arrigo Sacchi that club president Florentino Perez was keen on Ramos taking a pay cut in order to stay on at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ramos has since reacted calmly to those suggestions, and insists he will leave any contractual talks to his agent and brother, Rene Ramos.
"I don't think Sacchi had any bad intentions. I was surprised because I haven't talked about my renewal with anyone," Ramos told AS.
"My brother is leading that. We talked about the situation but never talked about money. I have a lot of love for him but I haven't talked about these issues with anyone.
"It's something that doesn't worry me at all. I've got two years on my contract and I've never called on the club. We've had appointments to speak, but there's no hurry. It depends on the club, not me.
"Thanks to [Perez] I fulfilled a dream by coming to the biggest club in the world and I'll be eternally grateful. Our relationship is very close and we talk often.
"We've had our ups and downs but always with respect. But my brother and my father are in charge of my contract."
