Another setback for Lekgwathi

Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates fans will have to wait a little longer before seeing veteran skipper Lucky Lekgwathi in action.

The 38-year-old defender is fighting a bout of flu and has stopped training for the past two days.

“Lucky is not training. He has flu and had to stop training,” the Buccaneers medical team confirmed via the clubs website.

“So far, he is the only guy that is not working with the team.”

Lekgwathi who last made an appearance in a Sea Robbers shirt last season, had just recovered from a foot injury he picked at training last month.

Meanwhile The Ghost shift their focus to the Telkom Knockout encounter against Polokwane City on Sunday, October 5.

This will be the first competitive cup match between Pirates and City.

The teams have met in three league clashes since Rise and Shine’s promotion to the top flight in 2013.

The Buccaneers have two wins to Polokwane’s one, with the Soweto side’s second victory a comprehensive 3-0 victory recorded earlier this season.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
