Bartlett's future still in the air

Cape Town - Lamontville Golden Arrows coach Shaun Bartlett admits he is still in the dark regarding his future, despite having led the side back into the Premiership.

The former Bafana Bafana striker led Abafana Bes'thende to the National First Division title this past season and with it an instant return to the lucrative top flight PSL, 12 months after they were relegated.

However, his contract is due to expire in the coming weeks and he is yet to be told by club owner Mato Madlala whether he will be at the helm next season.

"There's still not been any talks with the owner, so I can't really say what's going to happen," he told Football411.

Bartlett was a central figure in leading the club back to the top-flight, drawing plenty of praise from his players and management through the 2014/15 campaign.

And he admits he would like to remain at the club and lead them next season.

"I want to stay, but that is not in my hands," he added.

Bartlett has been linked to the assistant coach's post at Mpumalanga Black Aces, where his former boss Muhsin Ertugral was recently appointed, although he insisted that no offers had been tabled for his services.
