Carling Black Label Cup teams confirmed

Johannesburg - With only two days to go to the fourth edition of the Carling Black Label Cup game between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, the starting line ups for the clash have been announced.

Amakhosi and the Buccaneers will lock horns in the 2014/15 PSL curtain-raiser on Saturday at the FNB stadium.

Fans of both teams were once again handed the opportunity to choose their best starting XI for this encounter, which will be played in front of a near capacity crowd on Saturday. 

Heading into their final pre-season fixture, the Glamour Boys will be looking to defend their title and at the same time equal the Happy People’s record of winning the Cup on two consecutive occasions. 

Chiefs defeated Pirates 1-0 last year, to register their first win in the competition, courtesy of goal from their former striker Lehlohonolo Majoro. However, on this occasion Majoro will be turning out in the famous black and white strip of Orlando Pirates.

Pirates have dominated the event since it began in 2011 and will be looking regain the Cup after last year's defeat. 

The management of the Sea Robbers will be concerned at the fans' exclusion of veteran skipper Lucky Lekgwathi. Lekgwathi failed to secure enough votes to gain his place in the run on team.

Kaizer Chiefs are still dealing with two big injury concerns ahead of the new season and both Siphiwe Tshabalala and Bernard Parker will be absent from the match on Saturday.

Tshabalala sustained a knee injury against Chippa United on Sunday while Parker will be out for up to four months after undergoing an ankle operation earlier this month.
