The Premiership’s top scorer from last season is only just making his way back to full fitness following five months in the infirmary, and featured in this past weekend's win over Maritzburg United.

Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter, though, looks likely to stick with the same players that have served him so well in the opening weeks of the season, with Chiefs presently on an 11-match winning streak.

"It is tough, I mean the guys have been doing very well and I'm working hard to get back in the team," Parker told Football411.

"I'm playing catch-up at the moment in terms of my sharpness and in terms of gelling in with the team.

"It's basically one game at a time for me at this stage. I'm not sure how long that will take."

The 28-year-old is, nevertheless, thrilled to be back and will be hoping for another run out when Amakhosi resume hostilities with the Maritzburg United, this time in the first round of the Telkom Knockout on Saturday, October 4.

"It feels really good to be back and I'm happy just to be with the first team again," Parker added.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
