'Spiderkid' made no such demands - agent

Cape Town - Itumeleng Khune’s agent has dismissed reports that the goalkeeper is demanding an excessive pay rise at Kaizer Chiefs.

Sport24 reported on Monday that Chiefs have reportedly parted ways with Khune and club captain Tefu Mashamaite due to the pair's seemingly exorbitant salary demands.

Khune, who has been strongly tipped with a move to Premiership rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, is believed to have asked for more than double his current R3.9 million per year to remain at Naturena.

UK-based agent, Daniel Lichman, who represents Khune, has however slammed the reports.

Lichman claims that there is a "false agenda" against his client and rejected outright that any of the reported claims had been made by Khune.

“I’ve seen the article (regarding Khune’s future). There’s a false agenda against Khune,” said Lichman.

Lichman says that the club has not communicated with their long-time number one goalkeeper.

Khune's contract expires at the end of June after which he will be allowed to move to any club on a free transfer.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
